Kisumu within 2 days!

Hey Everyone!
It is mid morning therea round 10 oclock and it is almost dinner here :o) It is 4:15 on a Saturday late afternoon. It is REALLY HOTT! And to them it is REALLY cold! It is like July weather here and they think it is winter. Seriously, they wear winter jackets with fur on them and I am SWEATING! haha. I enjoyed the day very much. I went to 2 orphanages or what they call Children's Homes. The ages ranged from k-12. The children here are VERY VERY smart proably more educated then we are in America because they take school very seriosuly. Everyone LOVES Obama here and is very proud of his accomplishments. They accosiate him with Americans. They think that we Americans are (are spoiled) which is true from what I have expereinced here. They have nothing but get along fine when we have everything and still complain. It all is a misunderstanding to the U.S. we have our priorities all wrong. We need to be grateful. Please, anyone reading this who has a roof over their head Thank God for that. The children here wash all the clothes by hand everything is washed by hand. The children have chores just like we do but they do their chores to survive not to get an alloance. The secondary children have to earn their way in order to get into High SChool. They study hard to take a test that is coming up in November. The children that are getting ready to be Freshmen have to take this test inorder to get into high school. If they do not pass they are not able to go to school (high school). Very few pass the standard test. In America, we do not have to take a test inorder to go to High School. We just are priviledged to get in or drop out. They LOVE school here unlike Americans. They take school to heart because it is really all they have. Everyone wears uniforms it is required in all schools.
Mom, I gave out to the toothbrushes to the primary schools yesterday when you called when we were getting ready to leave. And today I gave out paper decorations to the girls to decorate their rooms with. Corey, when we get home I would like for us to get together to work out something where we can spounser a child over here at one of the schools that I visited. I have thought all about spounsering a kid while I have been here. It's been on my heart.
I have met several people. We met Secondary young men today named William, Kevin, and Joseph. We met the director his name is James. There were 7 staff members at the primary school that was over 150 children grades k-8. The Lord is so good to us over in America. Shew, I miss you all. Tomorrow we are going to church and then going to visit the Disbled Children's Home. I love you all! Miss everyone!
I have ate werid stuff here. I had fish the first night called Topilla bascially the WHOLE fish on your plate yummy. I ate the eye ball by the way IT WAS NASTY! I had cornmeal which is popular here it is not very good looks like grits but doesn't taste like it. I drink alot of Bitter lemon (Krest) it is like Gengerel. I had pizza for the first time today it was good. My favoirte Kenya food is Chapti (bread) I LOVE IT! Their fruit is very delcious too. Everyone drinks beverages from glass bottles they recycle them.
Okay, I have to go please write keep writting! Miss you all!
Love, Jessica

PS. have not suveniored shop for anything yet :o( haven't had time and I got to pee in a hole in a public restroom that was INTERESTING! haha
Dyl, I got a picture for you of a golf coarse here in Kisumu. It is not as pretty as West Palm Country Club but it is neat to see a golf coarse in Kenya! Love you all! Best time to call is after dinner around 7:30-8:30 by 9:00 I AM OUT LIKE A LIGHT! hugs to all! Dawndee Doo what do you want me to bring back to you?

JESSICA!! I finally got caught up on all your adventures! Grant and I spent time with Corey, Casey and Cheris last night--he cooked us chicken enchiladas *from the frozen food department* and it was fun, but we were missing ONE THING--YOUR BEAUTIFUL FACE!

He told me some fun stories about your luggage and eating a fish eye ball. I am so glad everything has worked out for you and you are truly making the most of your experience!
You are going to be a wonderful asset on this trip, sharing your faith, beauty, and love to everyone you encounter! I miss you so much here..although I work alot, I miss that last week you were here and we were able to hang out so much! I am praying for you and hope that you are adjusting well to the time by now. It took me close to four days to adjust to Poland time..that is one of the hardest things *and the food!!!* Corey gave me the phone number to call you, but I have decided I dont want to call and distract you from doing your work in Africa. I will stick with writing you on here and hearing all your wonderful stories! HAVE A GREAT DAY/NIGHT! ps-I am signing my OFFICIAL contract on Monday morning! PRAYING FOR YOU!

Hello Stinky Poo! HAHA I am so proud of what you are doing. It is amazing to read the different adventures that you have encountered. You are right about how we should be thankful for what we have here. Someone told me a few weeks ago,"what are you complaining for, being born in america is like hitting the lottery!" that was a great comment, and i needed to hear it. I have a job interview on friday so pray that it goes like God wants it to go. It is just great to hear from you and know that you are spreading the word of God by your love. I love you so much and stay safe. Cant wait to see you!Just bring me back a picture of a lion.
Love BROTHER DYL
