An Answered Prayer

Family and Friends,
In the last blog I talked about how I was relying on Psalms 34:9-11 and this past week from Feb. 22-through March 1. I prayed that God would send me 500 dollars just this week for my mission trip. Towards the end of the week I had 350 dollars then on Sunday morning I recieved two checks for 5o dollars! I said praise God! It was such a blessing! I thought the day was over, but God was so good because my fiance' kept telling me the day is not over Jess... Inside I felt that we do not recieve mail on Sunday so therefore I can not recieve any more mail. Well God had bigger plans in store! I came back to my room and open up my computer there was 100 check! How awesome is that I was speechless? I said to myself well I'll be. I could not believe my eyes and how God is truly faithful! He answered my prayers. This week I recieved 550 dollars! Overall, I have recieved 1,035. Thank you to any one that has contributed and keep up the prayers I can feel them.

God is really truly up to something. And my devotion today was about the Unseen and we need to look around us and look what God has created. I went out to the lake today and looked at the Kentucky Hills. It was so beautiful with the birds soaring across the lake. I noticed how peaceful it was. During that time of me ...in awe of God's creation much more was happening to our world. Miles beneath my feet lay molten oceans churning and if I looked up above in the sky the sun was beaming! From 93 million miles awawy the sun raw heat is lifting up moisture, drawing up massive clouds from sea and lake, pond and puddle. That is the unseen. What the sun is doing for us. In ever direction God is up to something. Today in church Pastor Phil talked about hearing God in just a gentle whisper and taking off our head phones and truly listening to God's voice. It is awesome to see how God can make creation alive so quietly in our busy lives! We do not see it because we know it is there we just do not stop to look! Take a look at Job 26:14. I am not sure what God is up to in Africa while Im over there, but I know that my job here is to get prepared. I know that he is going to use me in a mighty way! Sometimes in order to hear his voice we just have to stop everyrthing around us, shut the door, get in a private room, and be still and listen. God will speak to you just open your ears and your heart wide.
